At present, China's high-speed passenger railways have reached the advanced level in the world in terms of technology level, operation speed and scale. Rail transit has become a major choice for people due to its fast, safe, and convenient travel. However, as people use high-speed passenger vehicles more frequently, the related needs of station management, vehicle management, and passenger management related to rail transit have become increasingly prominent. In addition, from the perspective of public safety, rail transit is apt to become the main target of terrorist attacks due to dense crowds, influences and wide radiation. Once dangerous, it will easily cause major casualties and disruption of the aorta, which will cause panic in society. Therefore, it is extremely important to build an on-board video surveillance system that is compatible with rail transit. This system can play a role in deterrence, early warning, forensics, command and rescue, explore the long-term working mechanism of "hitting, preventing, and controlling" rail transit, and prevent and reduce public security. And criminal cases, establish plans for handling major emergencies that may occur in the rail transit system, and implement strict precautions. Therefore, the rail transit monitoring system should include important parts such as rail transit platform monitoring, rail transit car monitoring, and higher-level dispatching command systems to achieve comprehensive video surveillance and unified management of the entire rail transit facility.
 
At present, domestic on-board video surveillance systems have some applications in buses and subways. These surveillance systems mainly use analog cameras and on-board DVRs to store video records as their main function. They mainly provide video evidence to resolve some accident disputes. There is currently no application in rail transportation.

In the monitoring network, local users with rights in each area can access and use the video data and business data within the scope of the system by simply accessing the network. They can also browse the corresponding monitoring screen or playback video files in real time.
 
For authorized remote users (for example, leaders who are traveling abroad), they can reserve the interface for accessing and using the system through the Internet, so as to truly implement remote office work for leaders, which is extremely convenient for leaders to deal with emergencies. .
 
In addition to general high-definition, intelligent, and networked requirements for on-board monitoring, on-board monitoring has different working capabilities and requirements for shockproof, moisture-proof, and harsh conditions with drastic temperature differences from general monitoring equipment.
 
Special vehicle-mounted fixed cameras are mainly used for on-board monitoring of rail transit to monitor the railcars, and video recording is achieved through a dedicated vehicle NVR (network video recorder), and remote video transmission is achieved through wireless networks. Due to the particularity of cabin monitoring, while considering the monitoring video effects, cabin monitoring also needs to focus on special environmental requirements such as anti-vibration, dust prevention and anti-interference of camera equipment.
